What types of accommodations are available ?
You can choose the type of accommodation most suited to you. Living with an Italian family is undoubtedly the most advisable from a learning point of view; this is the family option.
You can have a room with a family and use of the kitchen, or with breakfast or even half pension (also including use of the kitchen).
Other types of accommodation are an apartment (shared with other students or just on your own), the monastery or, ideal for those who prefer living in the countryside and have a car available, a farm holiday situation.
If on the other hand you prefer a hotel, we can give you a hand – for years we have been collaborating with the best hotels and if you book through us you will have definite advantages.

How long will it take me to go from where I live to the school ?
As far as the family, apartment and monastery types are concerned, nearly all of them are located in the historical centre and are a short walk away, a few others are near the centre. For farm holiday accommodations, it depends on your choice.
Generally they are no more than 15-20 minutes by car.

What if I don’t need accommodation or I want to book it through someone else ?
No problem, just enrol in the language course you want to attend at our school.

How can I find my accommodation when I arrive ?
We give very precise directions before you arrive. If you like, you can book a “pick-up” service and someone will take you to your housing.
No matter if you have chosen an apartment or family room, when you arrive there will always be someone waiting for you to give you the keys, show you in and give you the materials you’ll need for the school.

When will you send me more specific information about my accommodation ?
About ten days before the course starts you will receive a brief description of your accommodation along with the name of the contact person or family, address and phone number.

When should I arrive and when should I leave ?
Your arrival is scheduled on the Sunday before the course starts and departure on the Saturday after the course ends.
This is the rule for the family or apartment option, whereas for the monastery, hotel or farm holiday lodging we can book you for longer periods if you like.
If you need to check in a few days earlier, notify us as soon as possible and we will try to organize accommodation in the same place; if this is not possible we can find you an alternative for those few days, if you agree.

Who do I inform of my exact arrival time ?
You should tell the Lingua Sì’s office your exact arrival time.

Can I give hospitality to a friend where I will be staying ?
It depends on the accommodation. If possible, you should ask our office directly.
If you have booked an apartment all for yourself, it will depend on whether there are enough beds. In any case, there will be a supplementary cost based on the number of extra overnight stays.

Can I book extra nights ?
If you have problems organising your arrival the Sunday before the course starts and/or leaving on the Saturday after the course ends, for example higher flight prices or no places available on planes or trains, contact us right away and we will try to organise extra nights if possible in the same place you have reserved for your stay, or at the worst we will find an alternative. It is very important that you let us know your travel dates as soon as possible.

Can I change accommodation ?
If there are serious problems we will obviously take care of changing your accommodation. Most important of all is to let our office know what is wrong as soon as possible. But since we are very careful in choosing accommodations, we trust that such situations won’t arise.

Do I have to bring linens ?
No, all accommodations provide linens. In the family and apartment lodgings, linens are changed once a week.

Can I use the washing machine ?
Included in the price is one washing machine load per week. If you need it more frequently, you can usually just pay the host directly.

Will I have the keys ?
Yes, you will have the door keys during your stay.

Are there curfew hours I have to observe ?
We have drawn up regulations with the families and apartment owners.
We request common sense and good will in respect for living in common, regarding both hours and order to observe in common spaces and in your room, seeing that the householders will clean your room once a week.

Must I clean my room / apartment ?
Your room will be cleaned weekly if you are living with a family. For apartments, some are cleaned weekly, others have cleaning supplies available. Obviously if you want to lend a hand in cleaning it is a nice gesture and often creates a friendly relationship.

How does the use of Internet and telephone work ?
Phone calls can be received within defined hours (not before 8 in the morning and not after 10 in the evening). Outgoing calls generally are not contemplated, but in case of need you can talk with your host or hostess. Using the Internet depends on your host or hostess, so ask directly. Remember that the school has an Internet point available free of charge, so you can connect and check your e-mail.
Guest apartments generally are not equipped with telephone and Internet lines.
